How may a debt collector contact you?

According to section 60 of the Trade Practices Act, a debt collector may contact you by mail, email, telephone or personal visit at a reasonable time and place. Collectors may contact you between 8.00am and 9.00pm weekdays and from 9.00am and 7.00pm on Saturdays. They may only contact you at other times with your agreement. A collector may not contact you at work, if it has been made clear that your employer disapproves.
